Christmas at Sanctuary Cove

Eat, drink, shop and be merry this festive season and join in the fun across a host of celebratory events at Sanctuary Cove. Unlike the traditional white Christmas, Sanctuary Cove will turn up the silly season with a truly Australian twist, presenting traditional Christmas pastimes against a backdrop of blue seas, white yachts, sea breeze, balmy summer days and seafood of every sort available in many of the neighbouring restaurants. There will be interactive displays that will be scattered throughout Sanctuary Cove to provide the perfect backdrop for your festive photos. Jump into Santa’s Sleigh, stand under the huge Christmas Tree or next to the giant Christmas Present. This year you can even post a letter to Santa by dropping it into the new North Pole mailbox.

Shop amongst a relaxed waterfront ambience and tick off that shopping list with ease. With an abundance of unique gifts, local and international labels and designer brands, all in the one location, you’re spoilt for choice with some 30 retailers to choose from.

Sanctuary Cove is the perfect place for festive gatherings with friends, family or work colleagues in any one of the acclaimed dining venues. Whether it’s breakfast or brunch, a long lazy lunch, or afternoon drinks that lead into dinner, the range of restaurants and cafes provides an unforgettable ambience for any event.

On top of these ongoing experiences, Sanctuary Cove will host an additional seven days of must visit Christmas attractions.

2nd December | 5pm onwards

Starting from 5.00pm, Christmas Carols will fill the air as talent, such as Renae Suttie and Wes Taylor Duo, take to the stage. Gather for a night under the stars on the Marina Lawn to enjoy a harmonious night of singing and dancing all while raising funds for local charity, ConnectKids. Take advantage of the free entertainment and grab a bite to eat at one of the surrounding venues.

At half time, guests will be treated to the annual Buggy Parade hosted by The Rotary Club of Hope Island. The immaculately presented golf buggies will get a bedazzling make over and parade around the lawn for all to see.

Photos with Santa

6-11th December | 10am – 1pm

Get into the Christmas spirit with the highlight of the show – photos with Santa in his candy wonderland. Jump into Santa’s Sleigh, stand under the huge Christmas Tree or pose next to the giant Christmas Present to capture the perfect festive photos. For those that love a more Australian Christmas shot, the sea backdrop is just a short wander away. Fortunately, the festivities won’t be just for kids – on Saturday, 11 December, from 10am to 12pm, pets can also visit Santa to capture a special Christmas memory of their own.

Giveback this Christmas

6-11th December | 10am – 1pm

What better time to give back to those that need it most than at Christmas, the time for giving. This year, Sanctuary Cove has partnered with the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, a locally based community organisation that raises funds to support the most unwell and vulnerable in the community. During the week of wonders, a gift-wrapping station will be available with all donations made going to the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation to provide emergency accommodation to families who have loved ones in the Intensive Care & Trauma Units. Sanctuary Cove will also be selling raffle tickets to win an Amaroo Yacht Charter for 10 people for four hours valued at RRP $1,800 with proceeds going to the cause. Tickets will be sold at the gift-wrapping station and in surrounding tenancies.

Beyond the Christmas Carol event, enjoy six days straight of free live entertainment as guests shop and dine. Expect roving nutcracker musicians to roam the Sanctuary Cove streets bringing a festive ambiance to Sanctuary Cove.

Already a foodie hotspot, Sanctuary Cove will come alive with festive flavours and flare in many of the cafes and restaurants. Gather with friends, family, or work colleagues in any one of the acclaimed dining venues such as Red Steakhouse, Ioesco, Destino or Bistro 19 to give you sustenance for the shopping or entertaining ahead. Kids and adults alike will also enjoy spending the day with Santa’s elves and Christmas fairies over free gelato samples from Rose Gelateria and other sweet treats.
