AUSTRALIA’S MOST EXPENSIVE GOLF HOUSE SELLS FOR $6.5 MILLION
14th August, 2018
The award-winning Sanctuary Cove master planned development is home to the most expensive golf course-fronting house in Australia.
Beating the previous record sale price of $4.275million, the four-bedroom, single story home on Arnold Palmer Drive sold for $6.5million earlier this year – marking it the most expensive home, fronting a golf course, in the country.
Former vendors Michael and Michelle Cowling built the home close to two years ago, putting all their love and time into making it the picturesque and elegantly-designed property it is today, using the best fittings available coupled with luxury finishes.
Upon their first pre-release inspection with Ray White Sanctuary Cove real estate agent Matt Gates in April, corporate executive David Baird and wife Marion decided to snap up the luxury Gold Coast real estate on the spot, before it went to market.
Purchasing the property after they sold their house on Gold Coast’s Isle of Capri for $8.8million, David and Marion secured their very own exclusive slice of sanctuary in the leading master planned community’s established and prestigious residential precinct, The Masters Enclave.
The second most expensive golf course-fronting property in Australia, being the previous record sale, is also located in the same enclave on Arnold Palmer Drive, selling for $4.275million in 2017.
The precinct offers prime real estate fronting Australia’s only Arnold Palmer signature Golf Course, and with some of the estate’s final-ever remaining new land parcels with golf course frontage now on the market – the $6.5million property offered an unparalleled living opportunity, now in demand.
Released to the market in 2017, Sanctuary Pines is the latest residential precinct to be developed at the estate that borders Sanctuary Cove’s Pines Golf Course – a private course that has been designed by champion golfer Arnold Palmer and is classed as one of the best and most challenging courses in Australia.
Home to a variety of iconic Australian wildlife, including rare birds and resident kangaroos, the prestige course carves through 101 hectares of established pine forest, and features corridor approaches to several holes, while lakes guard others, with fourteen of the holes contoured around six stunning lakes.
Following its staged release, the residential Sanctuary Pines precinct experienced rapid uptake, with buyers rushing to secure premium spots alongside the championship Pines Golf Course, with each property boasting picturesque views overlooking the lush rolling greens of the prized fairways.
With just a handful of the last-ever new land parcels remaining at Sanctuary Pines, there is now limited opportunity for golf-side living within one of Australia’s leading and most successful master planned golf and marina communities.
Fronting the immaculate greens of the famed golf course, the unique land parcels available are ideal for anyone looking for land to buy and build their very own dream home on, in a prestige setting – avid golfer or not.
Featuring large, gently sloping home-sites ranging in size from 1000m2 to 1129m2, the 16 remaining golf course fronting lots present a luxurious and now extremely exclusive living opportunity for those seeking to make the most of the estate’s iconic resort lifestyle, fully-integrated amenities, world-class recreational facilities and serene surrounds.
Priced from only $975,000, many of the remaining lots permit double-story construction, with house and land packages available – signaling the last ever chance to buy real estate and build a brand-new home on The Pines Golf Course.
The limited supply of land at the Pines is also driving up property values, with those looking to buy prime golf-side real estate at Sanctuary Cove appreciating the proven returns, in the case of the recent $6.5million sale.
But it’s not just the exclusivity that is appealing to buyers – it’s the opportunity to invest in a way of life that the residential resort community is so renowned for.
Bestowing the perfect blend of luxury leisure, living and lifestyle, Sanctuary Cove promotes a way of life that is unique to the development, with its diverse array of residential offerings – from waterfront living to panoramic golf-course or parkside views – coupled with unrivalled infrastructure, outstanding facilities and 24/7 security.
With world-class facilities right at the doorstep, including two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 226-berth marina and a five-star InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, with its own lagoon style beach, residents can enjoy sublime resort style living without having to venture outside the development’s gates.
At the heart of the community is The Marine Village, a thriving and vibrant retail and commercial destination that features more than 80 tenancies, including a selection of shopping, cafes, restaurants, bars and business services.
Whether it’s a day out on the water, a leisurely game of golf with friends or a night spent indulging in fine dining, residents have access to the estate’s abundant recreational and leisure offerings – firmly anchoring Sanctuary Cove as Australia’s premier integrated leisure and lifestyle community.
Another major drawcard for buyers is its idyllic location at the northern end of the Gold Coast, being perfectly positioned just 20 minutes from Surfers Paradise and 45 minutes from Brisbane – meeting demand for new land release near Brisbane, in addition to the local market.
Since its humble beginnings in the late 1980s, Sanctuary Cove has grown from the first development of its kind in Australia, to now one of Australia’s leading and most successful master planned communities to date.
Cementing this positioning, the estate recently took out the coveted award for Australia’s best ‘Masterplanned Development’ at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) National Awards earlier this year, following a win at the state awards for Queensland in late 2017.
Now home to more than 3000 residents, the 30-year-project has achieved more than $800million in property sales and is continuing to experience strong demand as some of the final ever luxury land options go to market.
While Sanctuary Pines nears sell out, Sanctuary Cove’s pristine waterfront offerings are also drawing to its final stages with limited stock available at Sanctuary Point.
Offering expansive views over the glistening waterways, stage three of Sanctuary Point has now been released to the market and features some of the final remaining waterfront properties for sale within the residential precinct.
Astute buyers can buy land and enjoy luxury waterside living at its finest, with 13 waterfront lots now available on the peninsular ranging in size from 652m2 to 1043m2, with two currently under contract.
Limited opportunities also remain at Sanctuary Greens, with affordable land for sale at the estate’s lush park-side residential precinct.
Parkside land starts from $499,000, making it the most affordable residential offering in the estate, with remaining dry lots varying in size from 514m2 and 720m2 and being located within close proximity to parks and its very own playground, the Greens’ residential offering is ideally suited to families.
From its world-class offerings, award-winning status, integrated community and unique way of life, Sanctuary Cove’s final remaining residential properties are expected to not stay on the market for long.
And as the development continues to upgrade and evolve its offerings, in a move to ensure ongoing growth to residential land values, it’s a premium long-term investment that will see buyers reap and enjoy the returns.
