Australia Day 2020

Sanctuary Cove Marine Village is gearing up to celebrate a fun-filled afternoon this coming Australia Day on Sunday the 26th of January 2020.

Australian inspired menus will be on offer at Cove Tavern and Anchor Buoy, while the IGA will be putting on a mouthwatering Aussie barbeque with all the favourite Australia Day classics. To top off a perfect lunch, a Gelato cart will be on hand serving up delicious scoops in return for a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to Queensland RFS, New South Wales RFS, Victorian CFA and WIRES.

Live music will be playing throughout the afternoon including James Fox Higgins, a songwriter, producer and original artist who has travelled and performed extensively throughout Australian and internationally. The Alex Fietz Duo will also join the line up playing timeless Aussie classics including a selection of Reggae, Rock n Roll, R&B and Top 40 Dance hits for the ultimate Australia Day celebration.

There will be plenty of fun for little ones including a shaded inflated obstacle course, keeping kids entertained and challenged all day long, while face painters will give them plenty of choices for cheek art, a full-face character or an Australia Day inspired design.

The event will run from 12.30 to 6.00pm at The Docks Precinct, with plenty of free parking available. Should visitors wish to leave the car at home and enjoy a celebratory drink, Surfside Buslines operate regular services to Sanctuary Cove, or come via Taxi or Uber and be dropped directly to the entrance of The Marine Village.

This event is not BYO; however, alcohol can be purchased from food and beverage tenants.
